Our Volunteers
Volunteers make community organizations work and our volunteers are the best!

They contribute time, passion, ideas, and energy.

At the Family Support Center of Ojochal, they provide leadership through the Board, work at La Manita, support our fundraising events and connect with the families we serve.

Can you spare a few hours? We can use your talent!

We are regularly looking for volunteers:
  • To staff La Manita and La Boutique
  • To drive families to appointments
  • To help out at one of our events
  • To help with repairs to donated household items such as toasters, desk lamps, fridge/freezers etc.
  • To help with pick-up and delivery of donated used furniture and household items to vulnerable families.
La Manita is open from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Tuesday and 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm Thursday and requires staff person for each 3-hour shift. Sue Bellord organizes the volunteers for this, and initial orientation is required. It helps if you speak rudimentary Spanish, but a great attitude and a willingness to help the local families find what they need is more important.

Other volunteer opportunities are less structured and can be tailored to suit your interests. If you want to help out, send us an email!
